CONTEST: Win the First Ticket to the Dinner of DOOM!

Like most fan conventions, InvaderCON will be offering a celebrity dinner for attendees to share a meal with our esteemed guests.  Tickets will go on sale soon – but we would like to give someone a chance to win the first ticket.

You see, attendees who buy tickets to the Dinner of DOOM! get seated in the order in which they purchase their tickets (when they go on sale.)  While everyone attending the dinner will sit at a table with one of the InvaderCON guests – WHERE at the table is determined by how low your ticket number is.

Hence, THE FIRST TICKET GETS TO CHOOSE WHERE TO SIT BEFORE ANYONE ELSE.  Plus: free food!

Here’s how to win: InvaderCON is a fan convention that is not endorsed, sanctioned or any other way supported, directly or indirectly, by Viacom International, Inc. or Nickelodeon.  In short, we can’t use the licensed characters for advertising our convention.  SO we need a cool logo for InvaderCON.  Submit your entry to info@invadercon.com before midnight on May 31, 2010.  We will choose our favorite one from all the entries.  Here are a couple of things we have in mind:

  • While we can’t use images of the characters, silhouettes are not out of the question.
  • Remember to use ZIM related colors (green, purple, etc.)
  • The logo must fit nicely on the top of the website and be able to have use in print material (such as flyers, etc.)
  • People should look at the logo and think “Invader ZIM”

NOTE: While the winner will get the first ticket to the Dinner of DOOM! – he/she must still purchase admission to the convention.

GOOD LUCK!

    @Sam: The link doesn’t work.

“The page you requested cannot be displayed right now. It may be temporarily unavailable, the link you clicked on may have expired, or you may not have permission to view this page.”

  2. Would using Invader Zim and Irken fonts considered Viacom Copyright? D:

  3. The Tallest

@Eliana: while you can copyright a font type (http://www.fontembedding.com/fonts-and-the-law/) – there are many fan variation fonts that while, looking close to the original, are not the actual ones. (Hence the large number of “Star Wars” fonts you can find on the Internet.)

  4. Kyndyle

    Is the Irken symbol allowed?

  5. @Kyndyle: No, it’s a licensed symbol of Viacom. D:

Um…how detailed can it be? I just finished inking mine and it’s VERY detailed. Is that okay?

  6. The Tallest

@Eliana – it should be as detailed as you think should work. :)

  7. I’m sorry of all the questions, but I just finished coloring it today. =D I was wondering, is there’s anything specific I need to give out, like my name, address and so on?

  8. Meredith

Should we submit different versions (black and white, color, alternate colors)?

  9. The Tallest

@Meredith: You can submit variations… sure!

  10. Meredith

    Ok, thanks! :)

  11. Meredith

What type of file should be submitted? I’m a little confused.

  12. Meredith

What type of file should we submit it as? I made mine on Illustrator…

  13. Meredith

Sorry, my computer isn’t working right; I didn’t mean to double post.

  14. The Tallest

@Meredith – Just send a .jpg to start with and we can go from there. :)

  15. Meredith

    Did someone already win early?

  16. The Tallest

@Meredith: No – we’re just testing logos submitted with the website theme. People still have until midnight tonight to send in entries.
